We support the racing wheelchair driver Alhassane Baldé on his way to the 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo.

2020 is not an easy year for most people. In terms of motivation and optimism, we can learn a lot from people who have never had it easy in their lives. This has led the Lottoland Foundation to an extraordinary partnership.

Alhassane Baldé was born in Guinea in 1985 and is paraplegic due to a medical error since his birth. He has lived in Germany since the age of 5. After seeing a mini racing wheelchair at the age of six and being enthusiastic about it, its developer gave him the unique piece as a present and became his first coach.

"Without sport and support I would not be who I am today."

Alhassane Baldé

From 1996 onwards he received professional training as a racing wheelchair athlete. He quickly achieved national and international successes, set several German records – including the new German record over 800 and 5000 m. In addition, he successfully participated in European and World Championships. Most recently, Alhassane Baldé won 2 x bronze over 1,500 and 5,000 m at the World Championships in London and the silver medal over 5,000 m for Germany at the European Championships 2018 in Berlin. Alhassane Baldé has already competed three times at the Paralympics and is currently preparing for the Paralympics, which are now expected to be held in Tokyo in August 2021.

Baldé studied in the labour market management and works at the Federal Employment Agency in Bonn. Like all competitive athletes – and disabled athletes in particular – he is dependent on support from sponsors.

"My big dream is to win a gold medal for Germany in Tokyo in 2021.”

Alhassane Baldé

We are accompanying the exceptional athlete Baldé on his way through the year 2021 – starting with the qualification phase for the 2021 Paralympics, thus continuing a common history of the Lottoland Foundation, which already started in 2017 through a sponsorship. Since that time, a lot has been made possible, also thanks to our partnership. A professional team has developed around Alhassane Baldé, which wants to show what is important in sport and in life: Inspiration, enthusiasm, ambition, courage – and a positive mindset on the way to achieving the set goals. For a better world.

With our support we make a big difference:

Sponsoring of an exceptional sports talent

Long-term partnership and promotion of a professional team

Support for the development of innovative sports equipment

Coverage of travel expenses and training camps in the qualification phase

Preparing for participation in the 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo
